The Town of Superior recognizes graduating Seniors from Superior High School with a “Key to the Town” ceremony. The ceremony honors their accomplishments and reminds them that they will always have a home in Superior.

Elected Mayor of the Town of Superior in 2016, Mila Besich serves her community and the larger Copper Corridor community with distinction. Over the past twenty years she has demonstrated success as an entrepreneur and executive in organizational management, marketing, and business growth. Ms. Besich enjoys a sterling reputation in Arizona as an elected official, business executive, and dynamic community leader.
Ms. Besich is a Flinn Brown Fellow and graduate of the Valle del Sol Hispanic Leadership Institute. She serves on the Executive Committee for the League of Arizona Cities and Towns; is a member of the National League of Cities Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Committee; and served on the Superior Unified School District Governing Board for 10 years.
Ms. Besich is the Executive Director of the Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition, where she leads a regional private-public partnership to advance the economic and community development of Arizona’s mining country. She is also the Advertising Director and a reporter for the Copper Area News Publishers.
She is a mother of two students who attend Arizona State University and enjoys traveling with her family.

The council provides leadership opportunities for students to learn about the community and become involved in projects and initiatives in the Town of Superior.

The Optimist Honor Roll Laptop Award Banquet provides a free laptop to graduating seniors who have made the honor roll every quarter beginning in the 8th grade.
College and Career Readiness High School Graduation College Admission Partnerships
The Superior Enterprise Center hosts an Entrepreneurial Academy for students in grades 7-12 each summer to foster entrepreneurism and social impact.
